Description
This is a custom built racing simulator rig designed to look like a cutaway of a NASCAR Sprint Cup Stock Car (Or a NASCOLT Gallop Cup Car in this case). Apart from the electronics, the window net and the seat, the whole rig was hand crafted from scratch, all done by my father and myself in about two and a half months (Began construction January 11th, finished in the middle of the night on April 1st.) The rig features:
This build was a lot of fun, but pretty stressful in the final month. Surprisingly, the hardest part, wasn't building the frame, but building the body panels! Especially the rear roof pillar!
For all of you going to BABScon 2016, the rig will be back with a bunch of improvements, so you can have a chance to see how you stack up against fellow attendees, and The Stig himself!

The rig features:
-A full frame of PVC pipe that looks similar to that of a real stock car with, no shaking or swaying, even with vigorous turning of the wheel.
-Komatex and MDF body panels
-An almost 100% future proof design that can fit through most doors, even when fully assembled. It can be taken apart down to the bare frame, so the livery can be changed and the whole rig can be installed in an upstairs room
-A Fanatec CSR Force Feedback Racing Wheel that can connect to an Xbox 360, a PS3, a PS4, or PC. No Xbone support, sadly

This build was a lot of fun, but pretty stressful in the final month. Surprisingly, the hardest part, wasn't building the frame, but building the body panels! Especially the rear roof pillar!
The rig was built for Steedhunters/Everfree Motorsport's station in Buttons Arcade at BABScon. Con attendees used to the rig to compete in daily challenges, most using four years worth of custom designed pony themed race cars made in Forza Motorsport 4, for the Xbox 360. The first challenge being a traditional Top Gear hot lap, where the user drives the Kia Cee'd around the Top Gear Test Track in the same manner as the actual TV show. The second challenge changed with each day.
Friday was setting a hot lap in this Viper (4.bp.blogspot.com/-nRmxh-_vppI…) around Sebring International Raceway.
Saturday featured Touring Cars such as this (2.bp.blogspot.com/-WBuXSE0fsf0…) around Silverstone Circuit.
Sunday featured the Stock Car the rig is based on, driven around Sonoma Raceway (NASCAR Layout):
